Todaiji Temple This is Nara’s most famous site, known for its Great Buddha. The Great Buddha Hall is the largest ancient wooden building in the world, Nigatsu-do Hall offers a prime spot to viewing Todaiji and the city, and Nandai-mon Gate features an impressive pair of wooden guardians.

Kasuga Taisha Shrine
Four deities were invited to dwell here 1300 years ago. The shrine halls’ bright vermillion columns and roof of hinoki cypress the natural beauty of the ancient forest. 3,000 stone and bronze lanterns create a graceful atmosphere.

Kohfukuji Temple
Kohfukuji Temple has developed through its close proximity to community life in Nara. The Central Golden Hall is the most important building. It has been recently reconstructed and was opened to the public in October, 2018.
